The founding brand EWIE (East West Industrial Engineering), carved out a niche in the industry by integrating engineering services and cost savings into a traditional distribution model. By having 90% of its employees at the customer site and partnering with innovative tool manufacturers, EWIE created a new value proposition. With successful implementations of new technologies in cutting tools (drills, end mills, broaches, hobs, etc.) and abrasives, EWIE was able to provide its customer base with tangible cost savings year after year. As the EWIE model succeeded, brands developed based on unique customer needs as well as a diversification of commodities and services. Now servicing 300+ facilities, in 12 countries, the group has its finger on the pulse of the indirect needs of today’s fortune 500 manufacturers.

About the name
In Alchemy, the medieval form of chemistry, Azoth was believed to be the material that could transform lesser metals into more valuable ones. Additive manufacturing embodies the same principles where raw materials are combined to build something new that is more valuable. The printers and the team all help create products that add value to the EGC customer base, becoming EGC’s Azoth!
