LMM Part Size
This technology is best suited for applications about the size of a dime or smaller (20 mm) in length, width, and height.
LMM Materials
- 316L Stainless Steel
- 17-4PH Stainless Steel
- Ti-6Al-4V
- Pure Copper
Data sheets are available on the Materials page.
What to Send Us for LMM
Send a STEP file and/or a 2D drawing, plus quantities for development and production volumes, and tell us any technical details we should know about. See File Preparation for accepted file types.
LMM Design Rules
LMM Wall Thickness
LMM can produce walls down to 50 μm.
Walls this thin are easiest to hold when they are short and tied into the surrounding geometry, so tell us where a thin wall is critical to function.
Support-Free Printing
LMM parts print support free.
There are no support structures to design in or remove, which gives more freedom for overhangs and fine features than metal printing processes that need supports.
LMM Tolerances and Surface Finish
- A very smooth surface, with an Ra of 2 μm without post-processing.
- Tolerances up to ±0.05 mm (±0.5%).
- Every additive part is measured, and every part ships with a certificate of inspection.
LMM Pre-Flight Checklist
Review this list before you send your part.
- The part is about 20 mm or smaller in length, width and height
- No wall is thinner than 50 μm
- The material is 316L, 17-4PH, Ti-6Al-4V or pure copper
- Any tolerance tighter than ±0.05 mm (±0.5%) is flagged for review
- A STEP file and/or 2D drawing is ready, with development and production quantities
